Testimonials

Philipp Petrenz (Germany)
Wladimir took us out on a horseback-riding trip around the beautiful Chimborazo Mountain. We got the horses from a local indigenous community, which were great, as they are both suitable for inexperienced riders and able to run like hell. We camped out in the sierra and arrived in a small place called Salinas the next day, just in time to watch the annual rodeo happen. Great fun! Our group was super entertaining and Wladimir is a caring and stunningly knowledgeable guide, so I highly recommend him for whichever tour or activity in this area.

I went to Riobamba and did a great day of hiking in the nearby scenery. Wlady is a great tour guy that is knowledgeable of this beautiful country. And we even ate some Cuys con papas after. Great time and truly unforgettable experience!

Just by chance I met Wlady through my host family…Lucky me!. He ended up taking us for a one-day horseback ride around the slopes of Chimborazo. It was an amazing experience, definitely a highlight of my time in Ecuador.

Wlady is very dedicated to the sustainability of the indigenous communities of Chimborazo. For example, a portion of the money goes towards steering local women towards weaving, as opposed to outdoor mining to earn a living (Wlady helped build a building for the weaving). You ride local horses which work for their owners during the week. Its a REAL trail ride (galloping with wild vicunas, in and out of streams…), no punch-button horses here. Midway through the day we stopped at a local hot-springs in a village and spent an hour in the steaming hot water.

We didn’t see another tourist the whole day, and on the trip back the skies cleared and we got to see the whole of Chimborazo.

If you’re interested in responsible tourism, getting off the beaten track, and working with people who truly care about their country and its people….this is the place for you!
